A Native Austinite, Selling Austin...Texas Style!
When interviewed by THE AUSTIN AMERICAN STATESMAN this is what Melinda Rice answered:
Q: How did you get started in real estate in Austin?
A: A career in real estate was undoubtedly my birthright. I am a Native Austinite and third-generation Austin Realtor. My father & grandfather were both Brokers in Austin with their own Brokerage firms for over 50 years. I started when I was 16 working at my father’s real estate company when Westlake High school allowed school credit for working in a professional field.
Q: What professional designations do you hold?
A: I am a Certified Negotiating Expert, Certified Residential Specialist, Accredited Buyer’s Representative and a trained Mediator. Many times my clients have told me that being a Mediator has benefited them greatly & that they find it unique for a Realtor.
Q: What areas of Austin are your primary focus and why?
A: Primarily I focus on properties in the Eanes ISD. I graduated from Westlake High School as did my daughter & her grandmother & great grandmother also went to Eanes. The first home I ever bought was in Westlake Hills when I was 25 years old. I also specialize specifically in the Lakehills area, Bee Caves, Dripping Springs & Lakeway.
Q: What would you say your Philosophy is?
A: I believe I win in life by helping others.
Q: What Volunteer activities have you been a part of?
A: Big/Brother Big Sister, Junior Forum, Brackenridge Hospital, the Deaf School, Travis County Emergency Shelter for abused children.
